Description: In this talk, Kalv will be speaking about freelancing and dealing with clients, while drawing upon examples from his extensive background in the tech industry.
Kalv is the CEO and founder of Brewhouse: one of the leading product development agencies in Vancouver. His first client for software development was building a visual basic application in 1996 for his school to automate the report cards. Since then he has gained a Computer Science degree from Southhampton University UK, developed software for telcos, banks, and built a couple of startups. For a part of his career and still today with Brewhouse, he deals with clients and learns what their business needs are, depending on the stage of growth that they are in.

Mark Latham is a financial economist and founder of Votermedia.org. After a career in academia and and Wall Street, he took early semi-retirement to work on reforming corporations. This project expanded to include reform of democracies and co-ops. Mark's focus is the economics of voter information. He is now proposing to create an information co-op, to demonstrate the effectiveness of his information market design – see votermedia.org/publications.
